The first Koenigsegg preserial prototype made its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, 2000. The car on show was the first ever Koenigsegg CC8S production prototype, which later became the test car and crash-test car that enabled Koenigsegg to homologate vehicles for sale. It featured an early version of the 655hp Koenigsegg engine that would later feature in customer cars.
