To coincide with the start of the 1978 model year, there were a number of small cosmetic changes made to the exterior:
- The malt black boot lid panel was replaced by a body coloured panel
- Silver grey finish was added to the rear light cluster
- The radiator grille was changed from black to chrome
- The chrome strip on the B/C window pillar was replaced by black trim
