The original Ferrari 308 GTS from 1977 was converted by Carpenter to the GTO Spyder in 1989 using the bodykit of its own production. In addition, the engine from Ferrari 328 additionally established with a twin-turbo, modified exhaust system, reinforced suspension and enhanced braking system were installed. Since 1987 Carpenter Company has made a total of about 20 conversions to the to the Ferrari GTO based on the Ferrari 308 and 328, but the spyder was the only one.
