The first Audi quattro units arrived in the UK in March 1981, but the initial batch of quattros were all left-hand drive. Audi wasn’t built the right-hand-drive versions until 1982 – up until then the UK had to make do with left-hand-drive cars. In October 1982, Audi announced that it would be building right-hand-drive models for the UK market.
