Of the more than 125,000 Porsche-Diesel tractors produced from 1956 through 1963, few models are as rare and coveted as the Junior 108 S, a stellar example of which is offered here. The 108 S was a special version with a narrow-gauge track that allowed it to negotiate the confining rows of vineyards and orchards, earning it the nickname Junior 108 S “Vineyard.” Power comes from an 822-cubic-centimeter air-cooled single-cylinder diesel engine connected to a manual transmission with six forward gears and two reverse gears.

Period photos on file show a Junior 108 S, perhaps this very tractor, being driven by the American Porsche-Diesel Corporation’s sales manager with a Ford-brand brush hog in tow—just one of countless tasks this petite tractor could handle with aplomb.

The White Collection acquired this Junior 108 S from Porsche restorer and Porsche Club of America member Tim Goodrich of Oregon in 2018. Painstakingly restored to a very high standard, it is finished in period-correct red with cream wheels and seat and its operating hour gauge currently indicates 644 hours of use.
