The Caterpillar Model Ten was the smallest tractor that Caterpillar ever made. There where several versions produced: Narrow, Wide and High Crop. The High Crop was produced for mainly farming purposes with approximately 420+/- made in the year of 1930.

Introduced in late 1931, the Caterpillar Fifty (5A) was first released with the "FIFTY" nomenclature cast on the sides of the radiator housing and had the fuel tank in front of the operator. By 1933 the designation was moved to the front of the radiator, and the fuel tank was moved to behind the operator's seat.

  • 1C1 was delivered on November 7, 1931;
  • 1C3 was delivered on November 7, 1931;
  • 1C12 ("Old Tusko") was delivered on February 29, 1932.

1C1 through 1C14 were manufactured in 1931, and 1C15 through 1C157 were produced in 1932. Most of the early models in 1931 had SIXTY cast on the radiator sides, but a couple had the word DIESEL. This happened sporadically in the early part of the 1932, before the DIESEL nomenclature became the only casting made.
