In 1966, Ferrari has released an updated model Ferrari 275 GTB/4. Externally, the car is practically not changed (the only noticeable difference is the hood with a small hump in contrast to the flat on the previous version). The main and most important change was the engine: a Ferrari 275 GTB/4 has new engine (Ferrari Tipo 226) with four overhead camshafts (on Ferrari 275 GTB were installed the Tipo 213 engines with two overhead camshafts). This engine was a development of sport prototype racing engines from the Ferrari 275 P2. Ferrari 275 GTB/4 was the first Ferrari road car with an engine with four overhead camshafts.
